ISLAMABAD , May 26: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said today’s attack on Army’s check post is condemnable and government will act according to law.
Responding on the attack by Ali wazir and Mohsin Dawar group on security forces, she said PM Imran had done a lot for tribal people. She said the process of progress of tribal areas was going on but some miscreants tried to stop the process.
SAPM said these miscreants are playing in foreign hands and people of tribal areas have isolated themselves from this group. She said these people have challenged the writ of state and an action would be taken against them according to law.
She said no one would be allowed to play with our national interest.
A group led by Members of the National Assembly (MNA) and Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leaders Mohsin Javed and Ali Wazir, assaulted Kharqamar check post, Boyya, North Waziristan tribal district on Sunday.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), they wanted to exert pressure for release of suspected terrorists’ facilitator arrested the other day.
Troops at the check post exercised maximum restraint in the face of provocation and direct firing on the post.
Due to firing of the group five Army soldiers sustained injuries injured. In exchange of fire three individualas who attacked the post lost their lives and 10 got injured. All injured evacuated to Army Hospital for treatment. Ali Wazir along with 8 individuals have been arrested while Mohsin Javed is at large after inciting the crowd.-Agencies
