On 6th Sep 65 I was in Nokundi. My father-in-law was Station Master there and my wife had gone to see her parents. The news of India’s invasion brought out from this nation its very best. My journey to Lahore on 8th was memorable .It seemed as though packed train was going to war front.

Naukundi where my father-in-law was stationed as station master in 1965 was close to Zahidan and border of Iran. Journey to Quetta took nearly 24 hours in those days. I had boarded the train on 7thSep and reached Lahore on 9th. I was Executive Editor Kohistan 2nd biggest daily then.

An all-out war between Pakistan and India with power to destroy each other and leave the former subcontinent uninhabitable, is not thinkable. As it is unthinkable for Pakistan to surrender its lifeline to India. That is a catch 22 dilemma .The only way-out is Pakistan doesn’t budge now.
