Granted that almost every walk of life in this country is mired in corruption galore from top to bottom requiring a lot of improvement. It is also a fact that various mafias rule the roost in this country and if the common man’s lot is to be improved ,their shackles need to be broken. The prime minister in his quest to cleanse the Aegean stables has taken on these mafias simultaneously thus stirring up the hornet’s nest. The unrest on the law and order front of the country is a case in point. All these mafias have joined hands now to thwart the reforms agenda of the prime minister.
It would have been better had he touched them one by one as that approach would not have enabled them to put up a joint front against the federal government. It goes without saying that the forces of status quo in this country would never allow the prime minister to cut them down to size and they would go the whole hog to frustrate the reforms which he wants to undertake in the various sectors of life.
Some political analysts suggest that instead of getting blackmailed at the hands of the corrupt politicians, the prime minister had better address the nation telling the people of this country that since he cannot deliver on his promises due to inadequate strength of MNAs and MPAs of his party,he is dissolving the assembles and going to seek their fresh mandate .If they want him to carry out reforms in the country they will have to return his party to the assemblies in the elections with a heavy mandate. This is the only way to bring about changes in the various walks of life in the country, otherwise, with the present minority government in the centre he won’t be able to fulfil people’s demands.
