Narratives pedaled by Indian media

India media is propagating global narratives set by Modi government. English daily ‘India Today’ under the caption ‘Pakistan Recruiting Afghan Terrorists to Enter Kashmir’ wrote: “Pakistani forces have started recruiting Pashto and Afghan origin terrorists to enter the border state”. In view of India’s claim of a friendly government in Kabul and having huge support within Afghan NDS/ANA, together with fenced LOC in IOK, the claim can be brushed aside hilariously. In reality, India has miserably failed in mustering support from world and is attempting to play the terrorist card against Pakistan. The indigenous freedom struggle is now simmering to a new level of frustrated anger and shall blow up sooner or later especially after abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to NDTV, Manmohan singh said the Congress had voted in favour of the bill to abrogate Article 370 in J&K and the party had only raised a problem with its implementation. “We believe Article 370 is a temporary measure but if a change has to be brought, it should be with the goodwill of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”. This implies that BJP has virtually no opposition left in so-called democratic India to resist brutality in IOK. ‘Times Now’ quoted Mehbooba Mufti’s message on Twitter hitting out at the BJP for its demand to confer Bharat Ratna on Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar who justified rape as a weapon of war.
Economic Times reported that Pakistani Forces violated ceasefire by targeting forward posts and villages with small arms firing along the International Border (IB) in Kathua district of J&K. Pakistan has numerous civilian casualties to show as a result of unprovoked Indian firing at LOC. Indian High Commissioner was called to Pakistan Foreign Office and handed over the protest. Moreover, Pakistan has responded well by destroying posts killing 9 Indian soldiers, video clip of which was aired. Meanwhile, India continues to build up nuclear arsenal. According to Hans Kristensen and Matt Korda of the Nuclear Information Project at the Federation of American Scientists, India is estimated to have produced enough plutonium for 150 to 200 nuclear warheads.
According to a report in ‘The Print’, Nagaland has been demanding a separate flag and constitution for peace resolution. The current stance by Indian government should act as an eye opener for Nagas and other minorities that future is bleak for all states under special status and Modi will annex their land, culture and history soon. It is time to act and resist Hindutva dream where non-Hindus do not exist. Indian English daily ‘The Hindu’ reported that Modi’s Turkey visit has been put Off over Erdogan’s remarks about Kashmir. The world and especially Muslim world must take notice of India’s response towards Turkey and Malaysia on their support to Kashmir. India is the only country treading the path of regional hegemony.
According to another report, Indian Intelligence agencies claim to have gathered sufficient evidence against two key Pakistan Army officials posted in Dhaka and Kathmandu of ‘misusing diplomatic channels’ in facilitating the smuggling of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) and fueling anti-India activities after New Delhi revoked Article 370. In the past also, India had accused Pakistan of smuggling of fake Indian currency notes. In fact, Indian forces’ brutalities have been highlighted by world’s leading print, electronic and digital media and still making waves on daily basis. Briefing various intellectuals and diplomats is a legal and rightful exercise that all countries indulge in and has already been done during UNGA sessions and continuing to date.
‘The Wire’ quoted Nitya Ramakrishnan who wrote that the Kashmiris ask, ‘Is this Gandhi’s India?’ As one man whose brother had been arrested merely for speaking to the media told us, “Go back to India and cover every statue of Gandhi so that he doesn’t have to face this shame.” However, sane voices in India do exist but are being silenced by the state machinery. India’s secular credentials are diminishing fast and a radical India is emerging. Gandhi is no more the revered leader and Godse, the murderer of Gandhi, has assumed higher stature. This reflects a trend and a mindset that shall sooner or later, haunt India. The only solution for Indian minorities is to resist and challenge Hindutva to survive. Two Nation Theory – basis on which Pakistan was created in 1947 needs to be replicated again – this time by Sikhs and Christians.
