The other day I happened to meet a highly knowledgeable person who during the course of a discussion took me by ‘stunning shock’ that it was not just the CIA which was investing hugely on our national media and its key personalities, the RAW wasn’t far behind.
“You mean our patriotic media personalities are allowing themselves to be bribed by the RAW too?” I asked in a voice filled with disbelief.
“It is not a matter of getting bribed, “he explained.” There are certainly causes that have intrinsic charm and sacred connotations. When you harbour these causes and take up their banner, you feel elated. In the bargain if you happen to improve the quality of your wordly life there is no harm.”
“May I know which causes you are referring to?” I asked.
“Human rights have a permanent value and fascination. But espousing the causes of the suppressed Balochs is specially rewarding these days. As is the causes of the missing persons “he replied.
“I get your point. But these can be genuine causes too, “I said.
“Of course,” my knowledgeable visitor replied. “But you will love to choose only genuine causes to become flag-bearer of, if you too some day decide to allow your fortunes to fly high at no risk of being branded as a traitor.”
The conversation ended there. Guess which patriotic media stars he was referring to !
