Sanity in politics is a treasured thing which is sadly missing in this country. More often than not , our politicians indulge in polemics against one another and instead of focussing on the real issues facing the country talk on non-issues. Too many cooks spoil the broth, so goes an age old adage. Not one but many people have been acting as spokesman or spokesperson of the government with the result that one daily comes across a host of statements from their mouths often making confusion worse confounded. The Prime minister had better appoint a single person as his spokesperson and officially notify his name.
Where has Ayan Ali gone?What has happened to the criminal cases against her?Why is neither media nor government reveal the cause behind utter silence over it?Is the case against her being hushed up because of the involvement of some sacred cows also in it?In the same manner, no body from the government or media circles disclosing the present status of the much tom-tommed Bhasha dam and the total amount of public funds raised for it!
POSTSCRIPT : The present tour of Pakistan’s cricket team of the Down Under would provide a litmus test of the latest selection of the Pakistan cricket team. It has always been difficult to beat the Kangaroos on their home ground. The present Australian cricket team has a very strong batting and bowling line up. Let us hope both Azhar Ali and Babar Azam in their new roles as captain of the test and shorter version of the game respectively would come up to the selectors’s expectations and they would ensure that their batting prowess, in no way, is affected by the additional burden of captaincy on their shoulders.
