In 1930 when the people of Germany in particular and of Europe in general first heard about Nazi Party and its founder Adolf Hitler, one of the mightiest nations on the earth stood at its lowest ebb—clobbered, battered and humiliated. The Treaty of Versailles was a living monument of the degree of disgrace that Germans had been forced to face.
In 1930, the value of German Marks in the market of Vienna was virtually zero. One needed tons of them to get a single American dollar in return.
It was in that hour of shame that Nazi Party and Hitler were born. Hitler is reported to have said in the Party’s earliest meetings that greatness could not be denied to a nation that valued its pride and honour above everything else.
“We will bring Germany’s honour and pride back on the World map. Germany can’t be Germany without greatness.”
Pakistan’s pride has been sinking progressively under successive governments and leaderships. The lowest ebb was registered when the U.S President refused to meet our Prime Minister in New York.
“Wait till October the 23rd when we will be glad to bestow upon you the honour of our audience,” was the message sent to Mian Nawaz Sharif.
