Anti-India demonstrations held in Srinagar, Pulwama and Sopore

SRINAGAR, March 18: In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred two Kashmiri youth in Handwara, Friday. The troops killed the youth during a siege and search operation in Butt Mohalla area of Handwara. The operation continued till reports last came in. Meanwhile, people took to the streets in Srinagar and Pulwama areas and staged forceful anti-India demonstrations. They raised high-pitched slogans in favour of freedom. Indian police fired teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators. The protesters at Nowhatta in Srinagar waved Pakistani flags. The activists of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party staged demonstrations in Sopore after Juma prayers, Friday, against the continued illegal detention of party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and Kashmiri intellectual, Professor Syed Abdur Rehman Gilani. The All Parties Hurriyet Conference in a statement in Srinagar strongly denounced the Indian police for implicating five Hurriyet activists including Showkat Hakeem and Merajuddin Nanda in a fake murder case, terming it as political vengeance. The APHC Chief, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a gathering at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar expressed concern over the anti-people policies of the occupation authorities like imposition of Food Security Act and hike in the price of electricity.-KMS
