RAWALPINDI, March 27: Sequel to special directive of DG ANF, ANF has launched a special countrywide campaign against drug traffickers. ANF conducted 18 operations and recovered 129.64 Kgs of Hashish, 1.541 Kgs of Heroin, 80 Kgs Opium and 1.100 Kgs ICE. During operations 24 drug smugglers were arrested and eight vehicles seized. The recovered drugs amount to Rs 201.5 million in international market. The operations were conducted at Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mashkel Balochistan, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Wazirabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Khushab, Jehlum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Burhan, Attock, Peshawar and Gilgit.
According to details, ANF Balochistan seized two vehicles recovering 80 Kgs of Opium concealed in cavities of one vehicle. Both drivers arrested and indentified as Muhammad Hussain and Muhammad Hashim. Both were resident of Mashkhel. The said narcotics were being transported from Girdi Jungle.
ANF Rawalpindi in collaboration with intelligence unit intercepted a Truck E-8213 DI Khan, at Motorway near Burhan and recovered 66 Kgs of Hashish from the secret cavities of truck. Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi Airport team in collaboration with ASF apprehended a person namely Subhan Allah, resident of Sawabi who was scheduled to fly from Islamabad to Jeddah by flight No PK-741 and recovered 870 grams ICE. Yet in another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a drug carrier near Chungi No 26, GT Road, Islamabad and recovered 5 Kgs of Hashish from his personal possession.
All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.-PR
