As part of a visit to Saudi Arabia, a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Foreign Minister Furkat Sidikov met with Chairman of the Majlis ash-Shura (Consultative Assembly) of Saudi Arabia Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh, Dunyo news agency reported. The Saudi side was provided with detailed information about the constitutional reforms, complex changes and additions being implemented in our country.
Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh highly appreciated the content and significance of the constitutional reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, and noted that they are an important step in the processes aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of the country and improving the welfare of the population.
During the conversation, the current state and prospects for comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, in particular the issues of deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation, were discussed.
Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh noted the important role of inter-parliamentary dialogues in the further development of bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan and said that he would make every effort to bring these cooperation relations to a higher level. An agreement was reached on intensifying cooperation between parliamentarians, increasing the number of mutual visits, and exchanging experience in the implementation of constitutional reforms. – Uz Daily
