HOSTEN, February 5: Secretary Foreign Affairs Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry has said that Pakistan’s Atomic Programme has maintained the balance of power in Asia, adding that confidence between Pakistan and India can be restored only through dialogues.
Addressing to Pakistanis, US civil and high officials on a lunch hosted by Karachi Stir city, Senior Pakistani official was of the view that Pakistan’s nuclear program is completely safe and sound, adding that country’s nuclear program was necessary to maintain the balance of power.
“Better ties with India is the top priority of incumbent government, however the prevailing mistrust between both countries can be addressed only through dialogues”, Aizaz said.
He said that Indian Foreign Minister visited Pakistan on November 09, 2015 and we agreed to restore the dialogues. Even in presence of mistrust and other issues Pakistan wants better ties with India.-Sabah
